It is that time of year again where the sun is starting to shine the days are getting longer and everyone is looking at the irrigation water coming on soon and life getting even more busy then it is now. Along with all the anticipation of spring, comes the anticipation of the HSPE (High School Proficiency Exam), which is the new WASL. The state exam has changed some from years prior and takes place on the following dates:
Reading: March 16 Writing: March 17 and 18 Math: April 13 Science: April 15
The greatest changes in the reading, math and science HSPE revolve around no 4 point questions on the tests and the 3 point questions have been reduced. The purpose for the questioning changes is to help reduce the time students need to complete the tests. For further information, please call me at 234-2921 or visit http://www.k12.wa.us/assessment/StateTesting/HSPE.aspx on the internet.
Please remember that on those testing dates, we want to do everything we can to make sure success happens. So parents if you could make sure students are well rested having a good breakfast and ready for 120 minutes of focus on the test. We thank you for your support.
Thank You, Tim Peterson Connell High School
