Basin City Elementary is a rural K-6 grade school with approximately 370 students. The school is located 19 miles southwest of North Franklin School District administration offices in Connell, and 27 miles north of Pasco, Washington. It provides an education for the children of families in the surrounding agrarian area and the town of Basin City. The building consists of three wings and houses 19 classrooms, multipurpose room, library, media lab, Compass Learning lab, music room, HOSTS center and various other rooms for special services and programs.

Principal's Message
March is upon us. The year is going very quickly.We have a full March ahead of us starting out with a week of Jump-Rope-for-Heart.This is an opportunity for our students to go to the gym and jump.They have sponsors and get donations for each jump they do.It is a very exciting time and gives those students who participate a lot of exercise.
Class pictures will be offered on Wednesday, March 10.These are taken by Dorian’s a local studio that comes and offers various packages for the students who choose to have their pictures taken.
Our parent group will be sponsoring an Agriculture awareness day on March 22.Students will be able to see and experience different AG related activities.Our Connell High School FFA students will be helping with this activity.
We are having a special day for our Grandparents on March 23.They will be treated to lunch and will be able to have their picture taken with their grandchild or grandchildren.In the morning the students and their grandparents will be attending an assembly called “Cowboys for Kids” which is sponsored by our local Benton/Franklin Fair board.Each student will receive a free ticket to the fair which will be in August.
March the 24th & 25th will be Parent/Teacher Conferences.Reminder of No School those two days as there will be conferences in the afternoon and evening. Parent attendance to the conferences along with their student(s) is expected.
Friday, March 26 there will be an early release of students (11:55 a.m.) so that our Teachers may prepare for this grading period.
Spring Break is scheduled for March 29 through April 2.We hope all our students have a safe and restful time of enjoying the spring weather and hopefully it won’t be rainy.This is a good time to have your child read and enjoy a good book.
