Dear North Franklin Parents, Students and Community,

Welcome to a brand new school year in the North Franklin School District. It is a great honor for me to serve as the new Superintendent for the 2018-19 school year. I have worked in the North Franklin School District as a teacher and principal for the past twenty-one years and have an unwavering commitment to our district vision and the students that we serve. Our greatest asset as a community is the many wonderful families that work, live and learn here. We greatly appreciate the parental and community partnerships that make North Franklin School District a wonderful place to work and go to school.

Our district serves students from Preschool through 12th grade. We have three elementary school sites, a junior high school, a high school and an alternative high school to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our goal is to have our students prepared for college, the military or the career of their choice after graduation. We have a very high graduation rate that is due to the many levels of support, enrichment and intervention that our schools and community provide to our students throughout their educational journey.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated staff that cares deeply about our students. From the bus driver who picks up your child in the morning to the food service staff that keeps them fed, the teachers who teach them and the para-educators who support them to academic success, and the many administrative, custodial, and maintenance staff who prepare and maintain the schools, classrooms and grounds as well as take care of all the details behind the scenes, your child is being served by some of the best people our community has to offer. We have implemented the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) philosophy into our schools to ensure that we are emphasizing positive behaviors that create a school culture that is safe, respectful, and responsible. We understand that parents entrust their children to us and we do all that we can to maintain a safe learning environment that is desirable for all students.

We encourage you to get to know your child’s school and the school staff through the many activities that are planned throughout the year. Our administrators and staff welcome frequent communication with you and want you to feel comfortable in our schools. Please bookmark the district web site, FaceBook, and Twitter pages to receive important updates, pictures, and event information throughout the year.

If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email. Have a great school year!

Kids First, Education Always,
Jim Jacobs
