On April 1, 2018 six CHS students and one OJHS student along with family and CHS teachers traveled to Washington D.C. We had five fun filled days exploring our nation’s capital! Highlights from our tour included visiting several of the amazing Smithsonian Museums with the Air & Space Museum,  American History Museum, the Holocaust Museum, and the National Museum of the American Indian being a few of our favorites.

Experiencing historical places first hand brings history alive. This was especially true as we toured President George Washington’s home at Mount Vernon, walked the hallowed grounds of the Arlington National Cemetery, and witnessed the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. \r\n

Spring in Washington D.C. is absolutely beautiful. As we explored the museums, monuments, and sights of this amazing city we were surrounded by blossoming cherry trees. We were fortunate to experience the height of the cherry blossoms as they reached peak bloom on our last day. \r\n
